What's null hypothesis? The hypothesis that nothing exists? I doubt it is that, but I didn't hear you explain what you mean by null hypothesis.

A 'null hypothesis' is the test against which a theory can be disproven. If a theory can never be disproven, it has no value. For instance, scientific theories always have one or more 'null hypotheses'.

there is no reason to replace religion with anything! ethics come from a person's moral intuition, which is strongly related with logic and reality. i havent seen what replacement you had in mind, but i just wanted to comment anyway. thanks for the great videos.

Wow, this video put every individual piece of the puzzle together right in front of my eyes. I have previously made this exact same journey backwards to realize I'm an atheist. This is an excellent video. I would explain it as I was living in a box but once I took one look at the box and asked a question, everything started crumbling around me until there was nothing left. Stef, nice to see you talk about the Deist "creator" in the beginning of this video. I agree with that idea of that kind of a creator, but also understand completely that whether it exists or not, should have no effect on our lives, or our universe (or multiverse).

the problem is argue religion from a western veiw! are you are aware that atheism is considered a path to enlightment in hinduism? did not math come from a religious environment? western religion opposes reason ...hindus embrace it! ..your arguments fail with us..the east gave you logic and reason..

I do not believe that God speaks more to the pastor than me. I just believe that he has studied the Bible more than I have (Thats a pretty safe assumption)

I think this section was a bit more objective and I enjoyed the critique of organized religion. Its much more interesting and enjoyable than the previous for me. I liked the more logical assessment of many assumptions in major religions and theology.
