  • Thanks for the reminder. That will be next!

  • What about them? YOu cannot just rec supps, etc without doing a lab. Licorice is good to support the half life of cortisol and prolong it. So you would use it if some is in Stage 2 or 3 and they have a low level (s) during the day. As for the progest, you would need to do a hormone panel to see where they are at and how much you recommend. In regards to stress though, yes these go hand in hand.

  • Addisons is a "genetic" or acquired from birth. It can be Polyendocrine (happening from dysfunction in the thyroid, pituitary, etc) or a child adrenal glands are born with a dysfunction where they cannot produce cortisol and/or other hormones that the adrenals produce.

The 3 stages I talk about are acquired during life through being exposed to too many stressors and not adapting to them.

  • Waste of money....is you are not assessing, you are guessing! He just gave you adaptogenic herbs, which supports the adrenals. If you are in any state of fatigue, you need supplementation of bioidenticals, not just support. Keep in mind, Naturopaths only have 2 schools nationally that are accredited. Most are eastern doctors....make money from Rx herbs!

  • Great intro to the 4 part series Josh! I suffer from adrenal fatigue myself so looking forward to your recommendations - I take a probiotic - coconut oil - rhodiola rosea - fish oil - vitamin c - b complex vitamins - was wondering if you could recommend some form of alternative healing exercise such as yoga/taichi/qigong - like is there any particular dvd you could recommend for a beginner to help with adrenal fatigue and stress in general - thanks

  • I do an adrenal lab, figure out if they are in Level 1, 2 or 3, recommend an adaptogenic herb for the adrenals, use cordyceps or red ginseng, as well as Pregnenolone or DHEA. If you are not on either bio-identical and it has been longer than 3-6 months and you still are suffering....what you are doing is not working.

  • I was just wondering if you were going to continue this series. I believe I have adrenal fatigue and want to know what I have to do in order to rid myself of this ailment! Thank you for your informative videos I really appreciate them.

  • What about licorice root and progesterone? You use BioHealth Diagnostics?

  • Is adrenal fatigue the same thing as Addison's Disease?

  • Yea I agree I have read all these books and I hear all the testing being done so I had to approach him about it which is kind of sad - sort of raised an eyebrow when he said its a waste of money.

  • Hey Josh - I was diagnosed my by my naturopathic doctor and I asked him if I could be tested but he said it was a waste of money which kinda made me confused since hes a naturopath - so he put me on rhodiola rosea and fish oil - and thats it - but ive had chronic stress for 4 years now - and i fit all the symptoms for adrenal fatigue thats for sure.
