The Marfa Lights are an unexplained phenomenon in Marfa, TX, a small west Texas town. This video is of very poor quality because I filmed it on my shoddy digital camera. However, you can see the lights occasionally on the horizon.

  • This is actually a beautiful video in its poor quality.

  • Thanks :D

  • i seen alittle flicker on the ground is that what people r talking about?

  • Yeah, you can see something on the horizon; it's much more noticeable in person or in a better quality video.

  • I'm really at a loss as to why you posted this comment. Sorry for wasting your 'damn time', apparently, with an actual video not pictures.

Just because something cannot presently be explained, it does not mean that it is unexplainable. Although in this case, I think the 100% positive correlation between the cars on the nearby highway and the appearance of the lights is a sufficient explanation at least of what the source of the lights are.

Why should we be satisfied with not knowing the answers to life’s mysteries? If mankind took your advice, we would probably still think that the Earth is the centre of the universe..

True scientists look first for natural explainations. In the words of Tim Minchin, “every mystery ever solved has turned out to be not magic.” The 100% positive correlation between the cars on the nearby highway and the appearance of the lights qualifies the theory with at least a bit more credit than being described as "lame"...

  • @jessiessica true scientists do not come up with just one lame theory that happens to satisfy your limited need for answers. if science and scientists would think that one simple answer is 'sufficient' or enough explanation for every mystery we would've still be believing that the Earth was flat and held by 4 giant elephants, just because the egg heads of the time told us so....

  • @rangerjesse ....just because you are a local that sees them every night and Wikipedia told you that they are 'headlights' and you believe wikipedia, does not mean that what you say is true.... if the answer was so simple, how come we do not see this same phenomena in other places that have similar topography..??... you reall do not know what they are or what causes them, you are just an idiot that believes Wikipedia and happens to live near by.

  • im trying to look for them but something tells me their sunset

  • I thought of a theory. If this happens every day at the same time, this is probably just a form of stars. Every night, these stars make a formation to make it look like a UFO or something. Thumbs this up and pass it around so someone can test it XD!

  • I went to go see them just earlier

  • This was going on , long before car headlights. They used to say that it was the "Ghosts of Native Indians" looking for their homes.

I think that it is a natural phenomenon, like swamp-fire and things that glow in caves.

If we don't know what it is... doesn't automatically make it "not of this planet".

Ever notice that "Unidentified" is the first letter of U.F.O.?

Shooting stars and the Aurora Borealis still make the hair raise on my neck, and science has already told me what these are.

  • @rangerjesse the lights have been seen for over 100 years

  • Dang nature you scary!

  • I travel on highway 90 everyday and night for work. I also work on many of the local ranches. I see the lights almost every night and morning. They are car’s headlights from highway 67. During the winter these lights experience some type of mirage effect and appear to separate vertically like towers of lights. BUT THEY ARE HEADLIGHTS!
