Splicing can refer to mending a cut line, line hacking, or... attaching a jack. I think you had your vocab mixed up Mr Nefariant.
-
@scottys55 you are mostly right scotty, except he uses an 8P8C connector, not RJ45.
-
Yo Jimbo or Vancouver Computers or whoever, this video has nothing to do with splicing ethernet cabling. It's simply a lesson on terminating it with an 8P8C connector. And Green in Not ground. And your explanation of a "topology network" makes absolutely no sense. Nice way to make yourselves appear completely clueless.

This guy is an idiot ! GREEN IS NOT YOUR GROUNDS !!! Green / White [DATA +] Green [DATA -].
AND... If you are going to TEACH OTHERS HOW TO "CRIMP A CONNECTOR ON A CAT5 cable" !st: DON'T TITLE YOUR VIDEO "Cat5E Ethernet Wire Splicing Demo". STUPID STUPID STUPID !!!
Please use the right tool for the job !!! NOT YOUR TEETH MORON

Where is the splicing? I'm looking for information on splicing. This video simply shows how to terminate or crimp an RJ45.
-
philogos0 & Fireblogging - Agreed, this isn't splicing. Change the title, it's misleading.

Did he say the data comes in on the orange and goes out on the brown, and the green is ground? That ain't ethernet.
-
Haters gonna hate.

Topology is a branch of mathematics that is an extension of geometry. It is an old fashion Token, but the people around me understand lay, Topology builds on set theory.
Good call, I am glad that there are people that understand networks - but this was only a baby show.
Peace allways
