I took a canned Toastmasters speech on Values and Leadership and added my own personal experience and slant on the subject. (Correction: Ken Lay was the son of a Baptist minister, not a Presbyterian minister as I say). This speech was delivered at Del Mar Toastmasters on 4-16-08. Intro to speech was deleted to keep speech under 10 minutes.
Thanks Misloc for your thoughtful and insightful comments - they are very encouraging. There is nothing like talking in front of people and sharing ideas - it's a ancient human tradition that still has an important place in this world.

Wow Doug,
I can listen to you all-day and everyday! You are humorous, clever and very informative. Oh did I forget to mention creative from opening to your closing. I've notice that - people are more likely to be considered great speakers when they can leave an impression on their audience. But, you meet your audience, then you educate them, then you inform them, with ease you intrigue them on all levels and lastly you are amusing from opening to closing!
PS: GREAT TOPIC
