I purchased this broken 1980's Teddy Ruxpin from ebay. I removed the face motor and casette mechanism. Replaced the internals with servos and the EZ-B Bluetooth Robot Controller.

The software that controls the robot is EZ-Builder. There are 2 servos for arms, 1 servo for the neck. 1 Servo for the mouth, and a small servo for the eyes.

I have more work to do on this robot. I will be adding a few more features and interaction on version 2.

I'm using the beta version of EZ-Builder, which has voice synthesis and voice recognition. He currently speaks and can respond to some voice commands. I'm going to continue adding more vocabulary and actions in the future.

This really makes the Teddy Ruxpin a lot more interactive and fun then the standard version.

  • @JDWolfman12271 Thanks! I haven't used him in a while. It's a good thing you commented on this video. it's a good kick in the behind to put some new batteries in him again!
