In the first few season, I personally thought that Pam is an average woman. Maybe because she was just a secretary, maybe she was told to play a low-life employee in a medium sized paper company. She was not so attractive. But when we got to know her better, we started to give Jim credit about why he would fall in love with her. She builds the idea of a perfect girlfriend from a point of view. I am pretty sure there would a number of school of thoughts about this issue.

@frankmartinisadouche I don't think so at all. Their storyline still was entertaining and fun during the time they were dating/engaged. Their storyline only started to get dull and painful when they got married and had a kid (two kids now as a matter of fact). It's not necessarily BECAUSE of those things though. I mean, the writers for these past two seasons could've done a lot of things that would've made their storyline interesting and refreshing. But they didn't.
