Ho ascoltato in quinta, con attenzione ogni sera per 6 repliche + prove... Meraviglioso. Un muro di suono, di emozioni, di forza e di colori intensi... Un Grande Maestro. M'inchino.

I listened to Ferruccio Furlanetto in London. I almost cried.

I listened to many Don Carlo, there are many great philip II... but Furlanetto is the only one show that deep, inner pain.

S. Ramey sang it brilliantly, flawless... but for me his king is more like bothered, disappointed rather than painful, weakness and hopeless.... Not to mention Ghiaurov.

Qui in effetti un pò di logorio vocale si sente, non capisco però questo accanimento nei confronti del povero Ferruccio, secondo me il suo filippo II non sfigura di fronte a quello dei grandissimi (siepi, ghiaurov o christoff)... Nel'86 con Karajan è miracoloso!!!!

Erwin Schrott is better than Ferruccio.
