  • The "Hop Scop Blues" was written by Houston's George W. Thomas sometime before 1912, when Clarence Williams heard him play it there. George published the song in New Orleans in 1916 while living there - hence the name. The song is notable as being the first to incorporate a boogie woogie style left hand in the sheet music, which you can hear Clarence play during Bacon's solo.
