... how did it find us?

This video is from the bottom of my heart. These horses are neglected, hurt, and in pain. How can we do this? And how could we? Giving pain and fear to the creatures who brought us through war, who trusts any human no matter their past, these pure souls? I am against horse and animal cruelty, and this video is to prove that these things are happening right now. Not to make it worse, Barack Obama has legalized horse slaughter.

What have the horses done to deserve this fate? NOTHING. These poor things are in pain, so why don't they stop? Money? If every single person cared for money in this world, it would be a living hell. Horses don't even know what money is, so why should they be put through as a payment for entertainment? Any who would anyone pay to visit these things just to see someone suffering and dying before you?

(continued) Though I would like it if there was no horse slaughter AT ALL, the fact is that there are too many horses that aren't being well kept and ARE starving or in poor shape to neglect. (And some abuse cases.) More than there are homes for. For the ones that nobody will take care of, the slaughterhouse MAY at least give them an end to their life that is quicker and less painful than starving to death or dying of diseases brought on by neglect.

I'm as against cruel and uncaring treatment of horses as much as anyone, but when it comes to the issue of horse slaughter because there's a market for horsemeat (in less civilized countries), the fact is that there are FAR too many neglected and undernourished or starving horses in America, and not enough good homes for them. The rescues are mostly full up and can't take on more without more donations. Horses aren't free to keep. How can you keep them alive when nobody will pay for them?
