Jools Holland introduces Stan's Quartet on Later.
Stan Tracey - piano,
Simon Allen - tenor saxophone,
Andrew Cleyndert - double bass,
Clark Tracey - drums.
The Quartet play 'Triple Celebration' from the 2009 album 'Senior Moment' (see Resteamed.com for more).
broadcast BBC2. 20th November 2009.
Stan's still got it. Clark and Andrew are unbelievable too but Mr Allen is out of this world - he has a serious amount of potential, I particularly like his alto playing, but thats probably personal choice. Good work guys, you give jazz a good name

Father and son both great jazzers with wonderful Andy on bass. British jazz is alive and very well!

Yeah mate! He's so unbelievable. As a bass player myself I can't comprehend his level of talent!!
It also sounds like your dad has the cool job in the world!! Jazz organiser! Awesome.
Ever heard of Mark Edwards? He's a keys player who plays with him Andy in a trio with him and Bryan Springs on the drums...intense!
