This always tends to attract either one or both cats. Here, Bonkers is rude to the camera, I apologise for his lack of manners.

I unraveled a 100% wool sweater that I got at a rummage sale for $3US. It's about 66 inches around the four legs of the chair. The medium ball pictured yielded 71 rounds = 65 yards. I have 6 balls of varying sizes, so my rough estimate is that I have about 500 or so yards of this red wool.

  • no sweat...I'm just glad it turned out to be MORE yardage than you thought! Good to have the error be in your favor!

  • @DamiettadCarnivalle Hahah, I have no idea what I was doing with my math last summer. Can I blame growing up using the metric system? (because that's true.) Thanks for pointing out my error.

  • Sweetie, you need to break out the old calculator, and follow along.

One trip round the legs of the chair is 66" X 71 = 4,686 inches

    Divide by 36 [36" = one yard] . . . so, 4,686 / 36 = 130.17 yards

Now, you say you have 6 balls "of varying sizes" . . . assuming they [more or less] even out? 130.17 X 6 = 781.02 yards
