Joe Bonamassa is an absolutely amazing guitarist, he captured my attention a few years ago now with his soulful feel playing, insane pentatonics, stunning technique, blistering chops and his deep understanding of the blues. one thing i have tried to copy from him is his ability to improvise for long periods of time without repeating himself. so ive tried to have my own take on the slow blues 'so many roads' but this track was originaly done by blues legend Otis Rush
i wasnt entirely happy with this because i messed up the riff at the start of the solo and at the end haha oops! but i descided to post it anyway cause i had alot of fun with it.
of course the guitar is my much loved gibson les paul standard fitted with my favourite pickups the bareknuckle nailbombs. once again im running into the boss 12 track i use for that big fat high gain tone. i got this backing track from the magazine 'guitar techniques' its a great magazine and i would advise anyone to pick up a copy for some great tracks and lessons.
Great that you posted the " warts and all" version. Just goes to show that even the best don't get it 100% every time! Lovely playing combining the feel of the original with your own interpretation. Carry on the good work.
