Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

Hey, Alkahest here. Welcome to Amateur Extension Theater 2000 -- serving up awesome video game (and sometimes anime) music for your enjoyment since, eh... sometime or other. Over a year? Heh, like it even matters. I'm just in it for the fun, and am happy to be able to share this little hobby of mine with fine folks like yourselves.

Lufia: CotS is an action RPG co-developed by Neverland and Square Enix for the Nintendo DS. It's a remake of the 1995 SNES RPG, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals; although the core plot and puzzle solving elements remain essentially intact, the style of gameplay is vastly altered. As to the story itself:

When an imposing and terrifying being of incomprehensible power known as Gades announces his intention to subjugate the human race, it prompts young swordsman Maxim to embark on a quest to seek a means to -- if possible -- defeat Gades. Along the way, Maxim will encounter new friends, dangerous enemies, and come face to face with an evil that could very well mark the extinction of mankind... and in the process, become a true hero capable of resisting the enigmatic beings known as 'Sinistrals'.

Composed by Yasunori Shiono and arranged by Hidenori Iwasaki and Ryo Yamazaki, the 'Main Theme' of Lufia is breathtakingly beautiful. And that's before it got this excellent orchestral treatment. I can think of few other opening RPG themes as memorable and spectacular as this; only Final Fantasy's "Prelude" series comes close in my book, along with Wild Arms "Into the Wilderness".

Fun fact: a version of the Main Theme was used in the course of the game as an actual song, used to soothe people's hearts and alleviate their fears and anxiety.

In keeping with my usual style, I've tried to pick only the best in honor of 400+ subscribers. But I also decided to upload this now, for Thanksgiving Day, as a lil' treat for all of you who've been supporting and encouraging me throughout my tenure as a music extender. I give thanks for every one of you, and hope that this day will find you well and at peace -- take care, friends. Hope you enjoy, and may God bless.
