This clip is from the 1949 comedy film Agaza Fi Gahanam (Holiday in Hell) about a group of friends who have decided to become thieves because they have grown tired of working hard for a living and not making much money. The film stars Samia Gamal as a dancer named Samia, and Ismael Yassin as her co-worker, he is a stand up comedian at the same club where she works. He has talked her into becoming a member of his band of ( very clumsy and inept) thieves. In this scene, the man sitting in the chair has made Samia believe that he has in his possession a valuable gold statuette which she secretly intends to steal from him. She has invited him to dinner at her hotel room and before dinner she dances for him in an attempt to seduce him and discover where he keeps the statuette. The man however, is on to the fact that she is a member of a band of thieves because he overheard her group talking about their plans on the train to Luxor. So he has lied to Samia about owning the gold statue, in an attempt to trap her and turn her over to the police. He is an avid reader of detective novels and he fancies himself a detective who wants to crack a case. The rest of the members of the group of thieves are outside the hotel room listening through the door.
