At the age of 2 years and 3 months with his implant, it took a next day to turn his CI on and we went home. He went to school on the 2nd day. Doctor has performed the state of the art surgery. It is painlessly quick and easy.
Dominic has made lot of transition to wish his grandmother a happy birthday at the age of 3 years old.

  • Dr. Syms in Phoenix would be glad to help you on this. I would not recommend the old method type of surgery. Dominic's incision is less than 3/4 or an inch behind the ear and painless. I was thinking of putting a website with a list of doctors that are able to perform like Dr. Syms.

  • Great, I can come over and teach him how to properly enunciate dirty words.

  • Not til he's 18 years old!

  • That's quite amazing. Most cochlear implant surgeries I have seen require pretty big incisions and shaving part of the hair off.

  • Cute kid.

  • good to him =D

  • Cute video. Did he really get his implant turned on 1 day after surgery? We will be implanting my daughter in a month and I was told it will take 2 weeks to a month to activate. How did they activate him so quickly?
