Here's Mom and I visiting the "Day Butterfly Center" at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain Georgia. The florals and much of the Butterfly species were "off-season" in early September. It's the transition period between the Summer Greens and the Fall Reds and Golds. Kind of an in-between period. But I loved that there were no crowds. This week there were mostly only BLUE MORPHO butterflies in the Conservatory. Certain times of the year, if you plan it right, you can see dozens of different tropical Butterfly varieties, and many more florals in bloom as well. But this week, it was mainly the BLUE MORPHOS with the brown outer wings and that unique "EYE" pattern. After our Gardens Visit we stopped into town to visit Pine Mountain Georgia's historic and tourist friendly resort village. Then a quick stop into the quaint, lovely and unique Callaway Gardens Country Store with unique hand made country crafts and delicious home made products made here in Georgia. After that we headed home back down into town in Columbus, just a short drive away. Please view the conclusion of our trip in Part 2.
