@pyrioni Not really, Cr isn't toxic in it's metallic form because it's impossible for it dissolve in the bloodstream in that state. (Unlike ionized Cr+6 compounds which are often very water soluble) For this reason certain grades of stainless steel are used for medical implants like bone screws and joint replacements. I should explain that Cr+6 has lost six electrons so it becomes an ion with a charge of +6. Metallic chromium hasn't lost any electrons so it has a neutral charge.
