I saw Mike Miller play with Brand X at the Paradise Rock Club in 1978... All I can say is he sounds MUCH MUCH better 16 years later

This lineup has a vibe similar to that of "Hymn To The Seventh Galaxy"--grittier, looser, more adventurous than the first Elektric Band, which always sounded to me more like five phenomenal individuals playing down Chick's charts and occasionally taking solos. To be fair to both bands, it sounds like Chick designed Elektric Band II to be more interactive and less orchestrated, which allowed for a lot more spontaneity and group interplay. Just my own opinion...

mike pope have a funkier sound , looser, and mike miller is very adventurous, he seems to be "living" the composition ...

Nice Video....Only one thing, that isn't Mike Pope on bass. That guy is the incredible Jimmy Earl who is currently doing the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
