Let's just enjoy his talents without having to proselytize.

@moolah55729 I agree...I was hoping there was some music out there that fits me too. Thank G-d I've found it! Shalom

@moolah55729 > yes, he is amazing. and btw - not a convert. born jewish. like me. a black jewish girl from canada :-)

@moolah55729 I don't know if you have/did convert. But there are plenty of African American Jews in the USA. We are in Mainstream Judaism.Ultra- Orthodox, Modern Orthodox, Conservative/Masorti, Reform, and Recontructionist. If they are not on the above list run! It could be a Cult. Do the research, speak to a Rabbi, etc. We have a group on facebook Jews of Color. Please read Kehila Black Jewish Magazine. If you are already Jewish Mazel Tov!

@DevilInPgh This is why we need the diversity of Jewish Music so that all Jews feel comfortable within their tradition. The style of Gospel Music, even in Hebrew, may feel foreign to you, because this is musically not your tradition. But there are Jews who understand the SOUL in this Music, and now feel satisfied to experience Jewish Music in the Soul style, by Jews for Jews and not needing to borrow and Kosher songs from a lyrical CHristian tradition.

@neutral4 I disagree. There is so many aspects of judaism that are pure minhag. And after feeling isolated for so many years in a jewish community that does not accept me, i want to form my own customs and my own community. Apart from those who do not want me.

There are lots of Jews who LOVE Gospel music but cannot relate to the music. Joshua has simply created a way for Jews to apply Jewish liturgy to the style of Gospel music. One thing I've learned from Josh is that you can be a Christian, a Jew, Muslim, Buddhist-the list goes on and on....we should all respect one another's differences and be allies. Peace be with you.
Adon Olam like you've never heard it! Neil
