  • It's actually a metallic fingernail file. You know, I met Marc Ribot on his trip to Guadalajara cause I was his transaltor for a clinic he gave right before this show. He asked me if I could get him one of these files cause he needed one among all his other "toys" and I happened to own one.

  • he's effin absolutely incredible. magical like a modern hendrix to say the least.

  • that full tune, 'too close to heaven', can be found here in youtube, it's a video called 'Marc Ribot in Moscow'.

Found it while searching for his performance of Shevet. Guess I'll just have to buy 'Le Corde Perdue' someday.

  • wow. He really shows a guitar and its sound from different perspectives. Dude i love this man.

  • I know it's a bit too late, but it sounds like an old gospel tune by Alex Bradford called "Too Close To Heaven."

  • uhm I really liked that part too... for now Ill be listening to Spiritual Unity (2005) for a while.. I guess..

  • Wow. I knew Ribot's playing was unorthodox but I didn't know he crossed Cage territory.
