If Elton is to be remembered for a truly great performance, this is it. Brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. The best!

I had the great privilege to have been invited to the concert. Great Memories. I totally agree with you! The orchestra was sublime.

I'm just now watching this after owning the CD since, well forever. His voice was failing and this may have been his final performance. Thankfully, it was one of his best (you can see the struggle) and there have been many more. This goes in the time capsle. If anyone 100 or 200 years from now want to know what we considered the best, here you are.

@weirdguy75 He was doing a lot of coke during this period and through the concert. The papers reported that he had caught a "flu"...great artist <3

@quizpubbob Vocal range wasn't the determining factor here. True his voice did gradually get deeper over the years but he was still able to sing all of the old songs. The drugs, booze, and constant singing were the reason.

His voice is really on the way out here. It's really gravelly... don't do coke, alcohol and songs which are to far out your vocal range or thats what happens.

Do you notice, as I just have, that he dosen't touch the piano once. I missed that in the review. It's purely his voice and the orchestra.
