1001 nights is a Persian story! Arabs got it from Persians after invading Persia and changed it to 1001 arabian nights.

@ryad235 True ryad. Scheherazade told stories about princes and pricesses and fantasies...for 1001 nights. thats how she stayed alive. She was not a belly dancer. I get that but this is Hollywood. They arent supposed to get it right so as long as the leading lady is gorgeous.

@ryad235 oh lighten up. I'd be happy to watch the Arabic version, but I'll be happy to watch this version, and the Disney version, and the Harryhausen version, and everybody else's version.

Just so long as it GOOD and it's ENTERTAINING, it doesn't have to be "true" to the "original."

@sistasizzle even so, I wouldn't believe it either that she is Irish/Welsh mixed!!! like if you weren't ignorant, you would see that quite alot of south asians look european bloodlines as many of those type of peple decended from Greeks and Russians, but instead your typical image of Indians and Pakistani people would be Brown, Apu guys and fat aunties for girls :P!!
