  • I am curious how you prevented Jupiter from being overexposed in video mode. When I try to record Jupiter with my NEX with my telescope, it is way over exposed in video, even if I setup the still settings just right.

  • @jdiwnab I selected the [S] shutter mode, then set it to around 1/200 at F3.5 an iso 200 then press movie and it records with them settings.

     Your better selecting what shutter speed you want first my settings might not work for you if jupiter is brighter or dimmer when your observing.

  • @glowingsplint Thanks. I didn't try setting up the shot in [S] shutter mode. I was running it full [M] Manual. I would adjust the settings, and get pretty good stills, but then hit record and just get a very over-exposed Jupiter. I'll have to try that tonight.
