Save the commercial fishing heritage in New England and around the U.S. by demanding locally caught seafood, and trusting what the fishermen say about the fish stocks.

  • @piperSeminole maybe your just bad at sport fishing. Don't ever let me see you write a comment like that again. You understand? If you do I'm gonna report you.

  • @piperSeminole You are in no position to make that comment. That is as far from the truth as me claiming to have gone to the moon. Do you think for one minute fishermen would want to rape the ocean clean if their livelihood depended on the status of fisheries. You don't think fishermen plan for the future. Overfishing did occur, but all the stocks at least in the North Atlantic have been rebuilt. I also sport fish in the northeast and I have no problem catching fish. You are ignorant.

  • I love to fish. My brother is a commercial fisherman in Alaska. It is a known fact that Commercial fishing has ruined most of the sport fishing. Commercial fishing has pretty much raped the ocean of most of the fish. Of course they will argue this because they want money and not Govt regulation. Thank God the US Govt has finally got the guts to step up and regulate. Maybe someday my Grand children will be able to fish off the beach or a jetty and catch fish again.
