To get rid of respawn go to the MAIN MENU, and click OPTIONS. Go to KEYBOARD and look at the bottom of the window. Click ADVANCED and check both options when the window appears. Click OK until you reach the main menu. Now click "`" which is above the TAB key. A window should appear with a type box. In that box type "mp_forcerespawn 0" without the quotes. No more respawn!

@HesterDW Additionally, the reason that Falleritus doesn't work very well anymore is that the 2008 Source Engine update removed the "ice" characteristics from some of the textures it uses. This has been a sticking point for some other source engine mods, a few even choosing to use the older version of the SDK in order to preserve material slippage, or replacing the .vmt files to bring it back.

@HesterDW That is just about the most incorrect thing I have ever heard. I'm sorry, but in most cases the CPU handles the physics. Only recently have engines started deferring physics processing to the graphics card, and only then in special cases.
