  • Also, I too greatly admire the nordic peoples and they've generally done a fantastic job of running their countries - I've considered moving to Iceland.

That being said, just because a population is intelligent doesn't mean they can't be fooled. A know a lot of intelligent people who, as a group, have fallen for some very obvious scams.

I don't know what the magic formula is, perhaps there isn't one, but pure intelligence is no guarantee against tyranny.

  • @thegoodlocust

You are right. It is more the lazy plebs mentality. They Irish are more prone to Bread and Circuses than Scandinavians. Having said there - there was a time when the Irish could not be fooled so easily. The lavish wealth and economic success of the past 10 years has destroyed the Irish psyche in a lot of ways.

  • Oh there are plenty of things I find offensive. Things like totalitarianism, dictatorships, terrorism, murder, killing apostates, genital mutilation, misogyny, racism, ‘honour’ killings, teaching children to become suicide bombers, teaching children to hate another race, using women and children as human shields, murdering people who don’t follow your precise form of religion, hanging gays, stoning people to death etc. Blasphemy laws, give me strength... The UN has been corrupted...

  • UN has ALWAYS been shit. It was founded for that reason. Global social enginnering.

"Even though it is quite true that any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable." — Sir Julian Huxley, first director general of UNESCO

  • @ThomasSheridanArts What I should have written was more corrupted. Big government, EU, UN and the like adopt social engineering to help simplify it's control over the populace, get them moving in the same unblaspheming direction. Big government hates individualism as they can't control it. I do wonder what deals have been made with Islamic countries and what that could mean for infidels.

  • It is not so much an "Islamic" thing as a certain brand of super wealthy Arabic style of uber-Islam coming mainly out of the Saudi Royal Family who are like aristocrats anywhere - in that they are in-bred psychopaths bloodlines.

Basically they have rewitten the Koran with violent and biggoted overtones and they have their printing presses working non-stop to make this mainstream Islam when it is no such thing. Would be like US Snake Handlers becoming mainstream Christianity. Nutbags.

  • Just political correctness gone too far.

  • Because the more intelligent and educated ones have left the country to live abroad. It might be that Ireland hasn't been through an economic boom apart from the recent one like Britain has. Many Brits were pretty blase about excess because of the 80's boom so had seen it all before when the noughties boom hit.

  • When I saw the title of this I immediately thought this would be connected to islam. I would not be surprised to find the UN's fingers behind this as well since I believe the GA has passed similar measures as well.

I do think Islam is a large threat though. Yes, some Muslims are great, I've met some who seemed nice until they revealed their extremism, but as a whole, the surveys I've seen of Muslims, show them to hold some pretty abhorrent beliefs.

Look up the poll that Pew recently did.

  • @ThomasSheridanArts If so, can you point me in the direction of the non-violent, un-bigoted, infidel friendly version of the Quran?
