Railway-archaeology, Brighton. The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway once ran a branch to Kemp Town, an eastern part of Brighton. It involved significant tunnelling through a chalk-hill. Sadly, the line is closed and all that is left are clues.

  • @jopop0 i have a feeling he was being sarcastic as 300 feet below them is a hell of way down. and he does say at the end of the pepper pot part 2:34 that the vent is not near there.

is that little metal thing the actual vent? i used to live on Pankhurst Avenue where it is and never realised what it was!

  • I am sorry to say that the pepper pot was not a ventilation shaft for the tunnel, it is knowhere near the tunnel. look at an old map or even on google earth and follow the route of the tunnel. Youll see that the pepper pot is way off course.

  • hehehe
