No it's Power Puff NOT Powder. It is the responsibility of the viewer to discover the message of an instillation not that of the artist. Do your own research. BTW the animator's name is Gennedy Tartakovsky, one of the most famous animators of the modern day.

Many don't realize that Genndy Tartakovsky is a professional artist who works in the realm of animation.

I have submitted a video response specifically created to address the notion of Comic Abstraction. It blends the milieu of the moving image and the poetic with movement as the glue that holds two divergent experiences together. Movement is what binds the comedic to the abstract. Dancers know this. Otherwise stationary work remains immediately contemplative. NOT comedic. -- Tim Barrus

I am responding with a video response "To the Sea" that I constructed especially to bounce off of "Comic Abstraction" in order to exemplify what I mean by "organic." The interplay between the comedic and the abstract needs to move. So the viewer never has time to be too long visually in one world ot the other. Thusly it's visual motion that unites them; not theory. -- Tim Barrus

Fascinating. Floating, bounces, shimmers, levitates. Cartoons do aspire to this. Yet this feels organic. Is the notion "cartoon" an invention of the artist or a curator. "Cartoon" goes to satire but this is not Pop Art. "Cartoon" is a fundamentally misguided term. The installation seems trascendent. It does not fit into the genre of the comic book. I like the work. But it's no more a cartoon than Judy Chicago makes table settings. -- Tim Barrus

Nice installation piece though it seems very vaguely related to its inspiration...powder puff girls, who I not sure who they are or why that is important to the installation...more info is needed!
