@SeeburgMusic More generally, you're referring to the self-contained band taking away the old tin pan alley model. The Beatles certainly could write and had talent. Don't forget the escalation of the Vietnam War, that pretty much killed the innocence of the early '60s era, and ushered in the singer/songwriter period.
