Bluebird nest building Day 13, March 30, 2009

It was a slow day 'inside the box.' The male was the first visitor & he took out a very small piece of nesting material, gotta research that. But I can't be hard on him because he presented his mate not 1, not 2, but 3 mealworms! LOL

Thanks for sharing,,,,we have our first nesting WEBL's now and we do not have a cam yet! We are monitoring activity daily,,,aren't they amazing,? They sound as if they do talk to one another,,,,the one looks at the other from the fence as they " talk".

@Bono4King They are fascinating. I am very sad because it looks like they are not going to be using the box with the camera in it. As a matter of fact, they won't be having their family in our yard. They do come when I put out the mealworms so they are not very far away. Enjoy!!!

They should have chosen your yard!! There is quite a shortage of nest boxes and nesting cavities where we love,,we got lucky,,,after 2 days of the nest box up,,,they were investigating it!

We feed so many meal worms,,buffet style!! We have now started our own mealworm colony,,,because we get 2 Black Phoebes and a few Yellow Rumped Warblers eating them as well!

It is nest building day 15 for us now and it looks like she will be laying eggs soon!!
