Me playing along to a Guitar Pro midi of the song Pursuit of Vikings by Amon Amarth.
---------------------------
Why a GP midi instead of the actual song? Several reasons:
1. I play a lot of songs in many different tunings. Using GP lets me change the song's key instantaneously, so I don't have to worry about re-tuning my guitar every 5 minutes.
2. Many times there are discrepancies between tabs found on the internet and what's actually played in the song. Using GP, I don't have to worry about figuring out errors in the tab.
3. Many songs place a heavier emphasis on the vocals than the instrumentation. GP allows me to adjust the velocity of the individual tracks to make certain the instrumentation is the focus.
4. This is not meant to be any sort of show of skill, and is primarily for my own documentation, and showing to my friends. I have very little actual talent when it comes to playing guitar, and any shred of ability that I've acquired is solely through a ridiculous amount of hard work and determination.

Hooo.. Okay. First off, I love this song and this band. :3 No fancy fretwork here, just a very nice, very simple, very metal song. This one actually hurts a little to play as a midi, since the singer's voice is so incredible.
For some reason this took me like three hours to record.. I just could NOT get a clean playthrough. I kept making some horrible mistake on an easy part that I'd never expect to miss, and was starting to think I was cursed ._. In comparison, the Stratovarius video I'm uploading alongside this one only took me two runs. I guess when the song is as easy as this one, I'm much more picky about how much room for error I give myself. Still a couple small mistakes, but overall I'm pretty satisfied.
As a side-note, this song is supposed to be played in A Standard tuning (2 1/2 steps down), but I was playing it in Drop C, and playing two frets below the normal fingering. So it's still recorded a semitone higher than the real version, but that was the best I could do without drastically changing my guitar's tuning =/
Hey,
du spielst falsch. Hast du gittarpro 4 oder 5? Wenn ja dann schick ich dir einen Tab wie du es richtig spielen musst.

@Brilonerbloodworker I know it's wrong.. It's normally played a semitone lower. I used a Guitar Pro 5 tab from Ultimate Guitar.com, if you have one that you believe is more correct, I'd love to have it!
Babelfish Translation.. Should be funny. :p
