@donnabuckner Thank You Donna.I've been listening to bluegrass music since the middle 1960's and have collected many songs. The Christian tradition which is brought down in much of the music would apply to any faith,so much so in my case I returned to my own Jewish religious tradition partially by that simple belief .

@donnabuckner i grew up in western nc myself i reckon we are mountain neighbors.....back in the old days we woulda been neighbors....anyhow, this music is in my soul from a lifetime of loving it! no music in the world had the soul of some good ol mountain music......

I saw this movie, "Song Catcher" years back and it's one of those movies that made quite an impression on me so much so I now have a copy.

The whole movie was really insightful and one of my favorite movies.

This song is actually called "Conversation with Death" similar but different from "Oh Death" made popular by Ralph Stanley...obviously same roots. This kind of song was called an answer song...2 singers would do it...one being the sinner and one being Death.
