Hard to tell but were you using a bristle brush to initially brush out the curls then use a regular plastic tooth brush?

@psychobitches2686 yep, the bristle brush helps me to smooth out all the curl and it really adds shine, and the regular brush kinda works to shape the waves better.

You make me want to try and keep my hair up again! This may be a question you've already gotten, but what do you use on your hair before you style it? I have a ton of very fine hair and I am always looking for new product to try. :D
