it's an antenna (for radio and TV) or a conduction rod ( to stop lightening from hitting the tower) also my friend was IN the tower when it was hit and is still alive

I remember when i was in 5th grade and the entire school stoped its lessons. All the rooms were told to turn on the TV to see what was going on. When we saw the second plane hit, my teacher bursted to tears. All the kids were to little to understand what was going on, i think i was the only one realising how bad it was.

That must have been so horrifically shocking to watch, I feel so much sympathy even for these people who were only affected by being witness. That would be a memory from which you could never escape, at least not for any significant amount of time. I'm sure they relive it in their minds constantly. How awful......
