Check out "BEST RALLY : Jonothan Power vs Peter Nicol" It can be a very effective defensive shot that gives you time to get back into a rally. I don't think it's as bad as people make out and if guys like these use it, cant be all bad.

its harder with a yellow dot.

About 8 months ago i thought it's a very dangerous and very hard attacking shot. It was my mistake. Now i can fully agree - it's last chance defensive shot, it creates "loose ball" and opponent has many options to play. The key in squash is to do not let your opponent has more than one option ;) But, it's better to play backwall boast than let the ball go down ;)
Sorry for my poor english, greetings from Poland.

what you said.

"its a good shot to have, but if you use it a lot your probably not doing so well"

i start play squash a month ago, and i use this shot frequently... a 'last chance-saloon-shot', but frequently...

Couldn't agree more.
I see loads of people play that shot here in my Uni's squash club. Like you say, it's a 'last chance-saloon-shot' and you rarely see any of the top 5 (myself included) play the shot.
This shot should never be taught, at a basic level. This is 'last chance-saloon-shot' in any game, professional or otherwise. Having to return this ball when you are chasing it to the back-wall in front of you means you are out of position in the first place. Good Luck !!!!

Don't let yourself get in that position in the first place!
