  • The failure could be prevented by mounting some form of vibration damper at the front end of the crankshaft that is capable of absorbing and dissipating the majority of the vibratory energy, especially on a vintage machine. You can get harmonic damper from a junk yard, from a BMW pulley then fit it to the hub area. This could save you from another serious damage and down time. I really like this video.

  • Thanks.

One of the common problems associated with steel is harmonics. Gray iron solves that problem and that is why it makes sense in machine tooling. However, when you combine steel components with ductile gray iron, there is a conundrum: steel wants to resonate energy at a different frequency than the iron. By placing a SouthCo Turnlock receptacle mounting the main planetary gear, torqued at 23.4 in lbs, we were able to reconcile the 25 hz harmonics with the 40 hz to equal ZERO. Solved!

  • Measure twice, cut once.

I hope Baby Dolls appreciates the 'exposure.'

  • Heck, I don't even have to measure once - simply bolt the work stop down and go. A monkey can do it.

  • I saw that you got a saw.

  • LOL. Thanks for watching!
