Courage for Starchild

Starchild is rudely awakened by a loud noise outside her window.
The kind earth dwarf has left her side, and she is alone once again.
How will she face the day that awaits her?
Starchild cries softly.
Wiping her tears away, she rises.
A beautiful, golden glow surrounds Starchild.
She senses evil permeating the ether beyond her reach.
Starchild is angry.
The evil, sensing her anger, retreats to the corner.
Fearful of Starchild, the evil cowers, hoping to escape her anger.
Starchild takes a fleeting glimpse towards the corner.
In a moment, a bright orange spark leaves Starchild.
And incinerates the cowering evil.
Drawing in a breath of courage.
Starchild opens her door and walks forward unafraid.
