I like Igbo people. Never met a dumb or lazy one in my life. They are all intelligent, speak multiple language, have nice skin.

@andrea1paola yeah, it is money as a token of appreciation being thrown to the dancers...in that case, the man is probably throwing money at her again, a way of showing the love..that's what we do in Igbo culture..and Nigerian culture as a whole.

Hi! can somebody tell me, Im writing a paper on this dance.. Is it money that the man that is not dancing picking up? and what does it mean if a woman is dancing a man stayes around throwing papers at her?

this sounds almost like the bahamian junkanoo who are direct descendants of the igbo people, the costumes are alike too

@theia88 Yes, spectators drop currencies on the performer to show their appreciation and "ushers" pick up and remove them so they aren't trampled. It would be bad form for any one else to touch them.

this is interesting...but i have questions..why there's people taking the money from the ground? who are they? it must be certain people doing that? because if it's not, then all the people there would take the money. and is there any particular mean of doing that?
-
The people walking around and in the performance are probably collecting the money on the ground...
