You mean without acting like a kid, and cursing, and calling you names.. I rarely ever do that lol.. whats the point. I agree most people on here cant even talk about anything without it.

@1ownjoo2 And well done on maintaining a civil discourse too. It's rare to encounter disagreeing comments like yours on youtube. I enjoyed it. :)

@1ownjoo2 I'll give you those points. Really it comes down to personal preference. A lot of people will opt for the gas savings, or perceived gas savings even if they're not that much for them. Some will pay the premium for the sake of spurring new technology and investment. Others will do it for ego. And still others just because they like the quiet of not having an engine running all the time. I like that one too. But others will prefer a truck or a Jeep or a V8. To each their own I say. :)
-
But in the meantime id rather drive my big v8 then a small car for the next 5 years.
-
Yea thats only when it will start to shine, or unless we were one those crazy people who drive like 2k miles a month to work instead of moving closer lol.
-
@1ownjoo2 In my case you'd be correct, I wouldn't save money by buying a Prius over keeping my old Subaru. But if I did buy a Prius, I would now have 2 cars instead of 1, one of them being several years newer with many fewer miles on it. Having the same net income while having a greater material worth is however a net gain, and in the world of finances, that can sometimes be considered a savings. And when the Prius is paid for like my Subaru or your Jeep, the true savings begin.
-
@1ownjoo2 Kind of like your Jeep would be old by the time it was paid for if bought new and financed. There's no difference in that regard between a Prius or any other car-- they will all be old by the time they're paid for if financed over several years. Try this, 2 people with the same income, one buys a new Jeep financed for 5 years, the other buys a new Prius at similar option level financed for 5 years. Who comes out ahead in the end? The Prius in most cases but it depends on miles driven.
-
But thats the thing, by the time your vehicle is paid for it will be old, they did an article about this on the news not to long ago, buying a new hybrid to save money is pointless because you arent saving anything. They dont get any better gas mileage then a 4 cylinder engine from the 70's. And yes my 13 year old vehicle is better then a prius.. I've been in those things, top gear reviewd them as one of the most uncomfortable, poorly put together vehicles ever.
-
@1ownjoo2 Your argument that my Prius would be 8-9 years old doesn't negate that I'd pay nothing for it due to gas savings. It also loses its validity by its implication that there's something wrong with an 8-9 year old vehicle, and then going on to say that your 13 year old jeep is somehow better. What happens in the intervening 5 years to change a vehicle's value? A paid for vehicle is paid for regardless, and one that's paid for by gas savings is better than one that's paid for out of pocket.
-
Then what by then you prius will be 8-9 years old. It doesnt really pay itself off at all and the prius i still say is really cheaply built inside. You get nothing its too cheesy fealing..
My 13 year old Jeep is a lot better inside, more features and softer seats, Jeeps at this age were put together so simply i do my own repairs if it ever comes down to it. We have 2 of them, one has 170k miles and has needed nothing but brakes and tires. Your argument to me is not valid
I just got 2010 white prius last Sunday.
I love this car. I drove about 300 miles already and only consume 1/2 tank of Gas. The engine is so quiet and run smoothly. It is absolutely environmental friendly.
Go Toyota !!!

I just traded in my 07 Mercedes E class for the 2010 Prius IV. I must say I love my Prius, I can see why people who have owned a Prius brag about it. I don't have any complaints about the car, other than they run out fast, so you're limited on the color and base option. People had holds on them, so whenever the allocation came in they would run out so fast. I am happy with my decision.
