The song South Shore Drive was written by Paul "Hucklebuck" Williams and his tenor sax player Noble Watts. The song appears on Paul Williams The Complete Recordings Volume 3 1952-1956.

Yes. Noble Watts spent a few years in The Paul Williams band. His contribution was great.

The record Hard Times (the slop) is one of the all time great sax hits and could be compaired to the likes of Honky Tonk and Walkin with Mr. Lee and in due time I think he will be rewarded for his contribution to this transitional blend between jazz and instrumental red hot blues.

Noble "Thin Man" Watts was one of the great unsung tenors of his time. He came up from Florida, back in the early '50's, with Cannonball and Nat Adderly. He worked with Paul "Hucklebuck" Williams in the house band at the famed Apollo theater in Harlem, NYC.
Thanks for giving him his due, unsoldchicano.
