The story, interspersed with performances by the Mothers and the Royal Symphony Orchestra, is a tale of life on the road. The band members' main concerns are the search for groupies and the desire to get paid.

@SousSherpa I've seen several interviews with Zappa where he said he smoked pot on a few occasions and that it just made him sleepy. Of course a lot of freaks back then were very disappointed with this, but I believe it's the truth.

@finylvinyl66 I heard a story that when he was on SNL in the 70's, he appeared in a sketch that involved him taking a toke of a joint and he interrupted the sketch to tell the audience that he never did drugs at all. I've never seen it, so I don't know if it's true.

film makes the argument that you don't need drugs to be creative and

mind altering.
