The people sittin there had no idea how much of a once-in-a-lifetime thing they were seeing. None of the dumb-ass younger players now could ever even come close to this kind of virtuosity, and even if they did it would never be broadcast anywhere. It would be about 1000th down the list from Britney Spears/Kayne West/MTV/super retard program/eat-shit stuff.

I know a little about modern guitar "pick" technique and the guitarist here Brent Mason absolutely surpasses the state of the art with this solo. Very few players (if any) literally in the entire world can play those sequenced arpeggios with hybrid picking like he does here.
