This immensely lyrical hymn seeking the compassionate side glance of Sri Radha is chanted by children and scholars alike in Vraj. A nine-year old school girl chants this hymn at the Radha Damodar temple in Vrindavan, every evening. After she finishes, aptly, the curtain lifts and the evening darshan begins. She does this on her own and the priests merely wait for her to finish. Her diction is flawless as is her concentration while chanting. Similarly, i have heard very young boys, visitors to the Radha temple at Barsana also chant this hymn, using the words on the wall next to the deities. One was them was the son of a visiting priest and was doing it just for fun, trying to learn it with his friends. He completed it without stopping and without making any mistakes.
The repeated use of alliteration enhances the lyrical quality of this hymn. Keen listeners will immediately note that the chanting of this hymn is done in the same manner as Shiv Tandava Stotram is traditionally done, described at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_Tandava_Stotra
and available to listen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTGf2Ux-bX0&feature=related
The way it is chanted immediately informs the listener about the pressure the chanter is under: words of great depth and not easy to pronounce roll out in an incessant casacde. For the chanter of Shiv Tandava Stotram, it is the removal of the burden of egoistic actions while for the chanter of the Radha Krpa Kataksh stuti also, it is exactly the same as is indicated in its phalastuti (fruit of hymn) at the end.

The pictures are random selections, downloaded from the web. This audio recording uses the Vraj version of chanting. For an completely unsullied chant of this hymn, be at Radha Damodar temple (very close to the Meerabai temple) before the door opens for the evening darshan.
