Lol, I say go in the opposite direction. Period clothes and deliberate hymns (no big band). Your the Salvation Army of the City of London.. people will stop and take notice

Keep up the great work Regent Hall!

I think its great they are out and about too! Evangelism of that style some would say is a waste of time. I don't think so. But if its all about playing a few numbers then it is. There needs to be (and qite possibly is) lots of one on one interaction with the audience? Just Gday, how are you? Here's a War Cry...... and perhaps this leads to an opportunity.

Great to see the Army out and about ... but i question the proliferation of "Br Bean" style jazz that seems to be played in the hope that the Army is up to date and in touch. Well sadly its not either . Stick to the old stuff - sing some Hymns. If you did then most importantly, more half of you could/should down instruments learn how to talk and communicate one on one. Tell them about Jesus. That's much more impressive than a Jazz lick!

Aah, how wonderful. Things like this always brighten up my day no end.
And this is not meant as a crticism. But I observe a lot of people walking by and not taking any notice. Get some high neck lion tamer heritage type red coats. You're the city corps for goodness sake. Be the SA guards band of the city of London. Attract some attention. Then people will stop and take notice.

Hey thanks for the comments. I was actually just a visitor to the corps, and I found it so cool that they regularly march I had to film it. I was so full of Joy to see Jesus preached on Oxford Street! I'm sure if you asked 10 people how to conduct an open air, 10 people would all do it differently... that's how it is. Good to hear from you. God bless you heaps!!
