  • Hi it's James here over in Ireland is the gmt gold master good I see you used it in one of your videos. Thanks for all you help in your videos

  • @jamiedoyle83 : very good for prospecting, yes. For a "do it all" I'd choose the MXT though and prospect with the small shooter coil (turns the MXT into a very capable prospector tool). Best of luck chasing the gold!

  • flagold, whats a pretty good detector for finding placer gold, from flakes to nuggets and larger?

    thanks

  • @7digitalSunday : for flake gold, the Fisher Goldbug II with the smallest coil, or the Whites GMT with the smallest coil are my favorites due to their high khz. They will see the larger gold as well, but are not well suited to the hot ground of Australia. Of the two, the Fisher is still the best, but not user friendly like the Whites and has no screen readout to follow black sands.

  • Thanks for the comparison test Matt. I just ordered an Ace 250 for my first entry level detector. It has the standard 6.5" x 9" coil. What is the advantage of the sniper coil vs. the standard coil? Would I need the sniper coil for nugget hunting or wait till I can afford a Gold Bug 2? I have enjoyed all the videos.

  • @SteveF944 : the sniper coil is much more sensitive than the regular coil for finding small objects or ferreting out a single object where the larger coil would be covering several targets. The Ace (series) will sound off on a nugget, that has been well established, what is not so well known is how it would be able to find nugget(s) in the heavy mineralized soils of the West (that would be a future test). I would have the sniper coil regardless, it turns the Ace into a super sniper machine.

  • from what i can se and have tried myself the 250 and the 350 are the same machine with different looking coil. and different name ie. euoace and treasureace.

    both the same machine

  • thanx for the test i own a ace 250 it is good to know the depths very informative , I almost went out to buy a 350 when i saw an ad for a 250 with all the geer and a 9"+ 12 " coils , but i think i stil paid alot @ $ 220. but i'm even more happy with it now since there is only a marginal difference of about 1/4 " ,, good luck diggin

  • It would be great if you could test your Garrett Infinium against the Whites TDI in the same fashion. Thanks for all of your interesting and informative videos!

  • I would love for you to test the Tesoro Compadre. I did a test on mine with fine gold and I got 3 inches. Perhaps it's the perfect beginner machine with the power to search for gold.

  • The area i work has a lot of flower&chip gold, did`nt see any nugget in the box.with 6 production (8 weeks) wash only made 2.5 oz with the help of mercury. average pit size are 20x20x 4to5 ft deep.its shallow in the raven till hit white clay with huge mountain all round. This product was a lost, so i`m moving to new land this yr. will stay in touch with videos.

  • @dave19554 I had the tech for 1 yr now with no gold found, but i have spoken to others with the same machine in the field. They said they found gold nugget with it.I did not see anyone found gold with the eurika,so no believe.I have found lots of waste iron & stone about 14inch deep..No gold throw.I stop with the tech, and this yrs i will be running a 4" suction dredge with two 3" hi-psi water jet.I engine a single cylinder horizontal diesel engine supplying a 8x4 single drop slue box.
