i used to stand outside the club where he/she sung as a i3 year old ....I was so disappointed i couldn't get in....Out side there was a picture of Jackie in a green sequin dress...i always thought she was a woman...i wouldn't believe otherwise...Now it's still a puzzle to me...but nothing can change the brilliance of the music...incredible voice and band...
I use to wonder why I thought I'd heard (YOU MIGHT SEE A "BIG MAN CRY"! And then all I heard was (YOU MIGHT SEE ME CRY). Jackie didn't want to refer to himself as a Big Man! Randy's Record Mart, WLAC radio Broadcasting the South out of Nashville TENN. Didn't know what he looked like & that the original was Chuck Jackson! Didn't know all that!
Brings back so many memories. I saw Jackie many times at the Sapphire in Toronto. I have just ordered the CD from Columbia Records. They were actually all sold out but were getting more in a few weeks time. He was a real entertainer.

Brava Jackie!!! I'm so sad that I have never heard of him. Well done. Heard the CBC profile on him too. Great.
