EDIT: Haha, 1,337 views! Nice.

It's Jay-ZZ Top! Ehh, whatever. As you'd suspect, this is Jay-Z' magum opus 99 Problems, off his Black Album, mixed up with ZZ Top's magnum opus La Grange, from their album Tres Hombres.

This mix was a lot harder to do than I thought it'd be, but it was worth it. Aside from slowing Jay's vocals to half the speed of ZZ Top's beats, I had to add some swing to them to avoid Jay having the stiffest flow ever. In other words, it took about an extra day or so to tweak the vocals for every single bar and verse, so don't go thinking this is some quick chop-job.

Peace

  • What... the... Fuck...? The best thing you could do is edit out ALL the Jay-Z parts, and ramp up the ZZ Top. 'Nuf said.

  • @panzerrat Maybe you can do it for me?

  • Nice job on this one

  • @KryptoBeatz Thanks man, appreciate the feedback.

  • not cool

  • i dnt get it

  • check my mashup... its GOLDEN...literally...check it out... btw it sounds good besides the upbeat with jayz but its solid

  • I love it, totally love it! I love Classic Rock, some Rap, Big Band a little of everything but when two totally different genres mix, I LOVE IT!!!

  • Yo man I'm really diggin this. I'm a real big hip hop head and a blues man at heart. I'm not trying to make my word seem more important though. Just trying to let you know that I loved the mash up :)

  • Great mix. Shame we've got all theses close minded bitches whining about Jay-Z. "Rawr! Jay-Z doesn't playz guitarz!!!11" I for one think Jay-Z himself said it best,

"We don't play guitars, but hip hop has put in its work like any other form of music. This headline show is just a natural progression. Rap music is still evolving. We have to respect each other's genre of music and move forward."

  • This is an awesome mix, I have to give you props. And I hate doing this, because I realize you've most likely worked very hard on it, but here's some constructive criticism. The only thing that I thought could have been better, is the volume of Jay-Z's parts. It felt overmasked by the ZZ Top riffs. But other than that, great job and good luck to you.

  • Very Cool. I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on the link. Rick Rubin (the guy in the song with J) produces some of ZZ Tops work as well. I think he'd dig it.
