@theidiotslapper If you haven't built your trailer yet, I would suggest looking up "Glen L Camper Plans" they have Travel Trailer plans, truck camper plans, motorhome plans, fifth wheel plans, ect.

@JRattlesnake The reason would be that some vehicles cannot pull a conventional trailer of equivilent size. My Nissan Xterra is rated for 5000 lbs. Most trailers are 4500 empty so would be too heavy when full. Also the cost of the second axle's tires and brakes is a factor. The low profile allows for garage storage as well. And hes not being misleading when he says "that's it". All trailers will need the additional steps you mention. He was simply refering to the added 2 minutes of set-up...
