Grimsby Town v MK Dons - JPT Final 2008

It's been a long, hard journey for both Grimsby Town and Milton Keynes Dons, but now it's time for the Johnstones Paint Trophy Final 2008, March 30th, Wembley Stadium.

MK Dons are currently top of the Coca Cola League 2, and look to be easy winners as they fight off Peterborough. Grimsby Town are currently mid-table, but after a very sloppy start to the season they have lifted themselves out of the relegation struggle and since the new year, have lost 2 in 20 games. They are on fantastic form, but will they be able to over come the odds and claim a victory against a very strong Dons side? It's been 10 years since Alan Buckley led out the Mariners at Wembley in both the Auto-Windscreens final and the Play-Off final, to win them both. Will history be retold, and Buckley claims a hattrick of Wembley wins with Grimsby, or will the dominent Dons side claim their first trophy under the former England international Paul Ince? Who knows.

I moved to MK from Nottingham in 1985 and watched the mighty forest prior to my move.Since then I have got married and had kids.financially I couldn't keep traveling to Nottm so when the Dons came along it was fantastic for MK and for me and my kids.I don't care how they got there but I do know that Wimbledon were obviously in dire straits and with more away supporters that they had home and sharing a ground something had to give , I'm only glad that they come here and what Pete Wilkinman has
